Change A Light Bulb Day

If every household in Queensland replaced just one incandescent light bulb with a compact fluorescent light, the energy saved would power every household in Bundaberg – that’s 17,000 homes!

Saturday, 1 September is ‘Change a Light Bulb Day’.

You will save money and energy by replacing just one incandescent light bulb with a compact fluorescent light (CFL).

A $5 environmentally-friendly CFL, used for about six hours per day, will have paid for itself in about 100 days in energy savings.

Considering that CFLs last 6 to 15 times that long, the savings continue day after day.

If that’s not enough encouragement, if everyone in Queensland changes just one light bulb the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions would be the same as taking more than 42,000 vehicles off the road.

By one simple action you can save money, save energy and help save the environment. Why wouldn’t you make the switch?

Pledge today and change a light bulb on 1 September.
